Release Notes for v2023.12 (8/28/2023)

Our development team has been working hard and working overtime to come up with some really great features that have been asked for by you. We love our customers, so we have made the changes you have asked for. We have marked those features so that you know they came from you.


Once the release is complete, just refresh your browser to get the new update. Hit Ctrl-F5 in Firefox and IE, or Ctrl-Shift-R in Chrome.

• Favorite Reports - When you go to run a report, you say to yourself, “Self, I don't remember if that report that I run all the time is on the left, or the right, or top, or bottom. Now I have to look all over or search for it.” Now you can pin up to 10 of your most commonly used reports, and they will show up at the top of reports for you to easily access in the future. Plus you can reorder them after you pin them. A really nice time saver.

•   Delete Categories with No Items - It used to be that you could delete categories, even if there were items in them. This caused all kinds of wonky-ness when you had items with no categories. Now if you try to delete a category with items in it, you will get a warning to remove the items from that category before you can delete them.

• Sold items - It used to be that you could sell a serialized item. Then if somehow you needed to sell it again, you could. No more as by definition a serialized item is qty of 1 and can only be sold once.

Storefront Enhancements
 

• We have an update to the variant feature.  A variant is a size, or similar choice, to select a specific item.  Instead of having a drop-down list of items, we have made a separate "tile", or individual button, for each variant.  This is an easier choice for your customers, and in the future could allow us to include the availability of each choice.

• We made a change so the "spinner" loader graphic to modernize the style when something is loading.

Note on Storefront Changes: We are constantly working to improve the user experience, performance, and visual layout of the Point of Rental Storefront service. As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the user experience, we have identified necessary structural changes to the Storefront HTML that include a high chance of impacting Custom CSS layouts. If you have Custom CSS, please follow the steps below to make sure you are not impacted.
 

• Review your Custom CSS
• Please check your storefront to confirm there are no conflicts with your custom CSS
• Make any changes needed to ensure that your designs still function as intended
• If you need to remove any custom CSS, please find the instructions here.
