Do you have more than one location or store? Do you want to know if another location/store has something in stock that your store doesn’t, but the customer is in front of you or on the phone and you don’t have that second to call the other store? What about an easy way of keeping track of each store’s inventory and income separately? You can easily do all the above with the multi-location feature for Rental Essentials. This article will show you how.

Choose Stores
When you have the multi-store location feature, you can use one username and choose which store you want to be in.
Once you choose your location/store, you can not only see what inventory you have in stock, but you can also view inventory from other locations as well.
Before you can see your inventory in your other locations, the inventory will be added to the Headquarter Store or Main Location along with the stock or quantities. Once this is completed, go to each store and, from the Inventory screen, choose Show Disabled from the Quick Filter drop-down. Select all items and from Actions, select Reactivate Items. Now, all you need to do is add quantities to each store and when you're logged into one store, you can see the availability of an item from all stores within the view icon.
Let’s say you have a customer on the phone. You can use the item availability in the inventory selection screen. You will now see your calendar availability overview for your store. To do that, click on the view icon.
You will see an explanation of what each number represents at the bottom of the calendar.
If you don't have the items available at your current location, you can click More Details and have the option to Show Multistore Availability.
Click on this and you will have the option to enter the start date you want to view along with what quantity the other locations/stores have.
If you want to look for a date that is later or sooner than what’s showing, you can type in the start date or use the blue arrows next to the date to move forward and backward.
Transfer Unserialized Inventory Items
If you want to transfer unserialized items between your stores, this is an easy process to complete. First, go to the store that you are wanting to transfer the items from. Then go to the inventory item and select the Stock Tab. Then click on Transfer Inventory.
A new window will appear where you can choose the location you are transferring to, a PO#, if applicable, and the quantity.
Transfer Serialized Inventory Items
If you want to transfer serialized items between your stores, this is an easy process to complete. First, go to the store that you are wanting to transfer items from. Then go to the inventory item and select the Stock Tab. Click on ⇄ next to the item that you are wanting to transfer.
A new window will appear where you can choose the location you are transferring to as well as look at the log for where that item was transferred to and from.
If you have an inventory configuration that can be used across all stores, you can now push some item configurations over to your other stores. To do this, go to Inventory > Inventory and then next to the items that you want to push the configuration to. Click the checkbox next to the item(s). Then go to Actions > Push Configurations.
Once the window opens, you can choose what you would like to bring over to the other location and even set the status from this window as well.
