Syrinx 365 | Global Search

Global search is a function where you can search quickly for a specific record across an entity or all entities. Here are a few examples of entities you can use to search: Hire Contract, Invoices, Purchase Orders, and Fleet Item.

For example, if you have a document number to look up but aren't sure what type of document it is, then you can search across All entities. Alternatively, if you know the document number is a Hire Contract, then you could search just on that entity.

Also displayed are the (up to) 5 recently viewed search items. These are records that have been previously clicked on and opened. You can use this to go back to a record you recently viewed.

Searching Specific Entities

If you wish to search against a specific entity, then click the dropdown next to All and make your selection.

Search Results
Depending on what is selected at the entity level, it will determine what records are returned when entering search text.

The search above has suggested five results. You can identify their entity by the icons.

Each entity may search across different fields, but most will be looking at the name/description and a number, whether a document number, account number, or stock number.

Using Local Search screens may be more advisable if your search is for multiple records. See separate factsheet for Local Search.
