How to Remove and Add Users in Syrinx

Learn how to add and remove users in Syrinx using the SP Configuration tool. This guide walks you through creating user accounts, assigning roles, setting up mobile access, and safely removing access.

Add a New User in Syrinx

  1. Log in to Syrinx SP Configuration.
    • Use an admin or sa (system administrator) username for full access.
    Navigate to User Management.
    • Go to Configuration > Users > Logon Users.

  2. Add a new user.
    1. Click Add User.
    2. For Server Login Name, click the Add button next to the field (do not type directly).
    3. Complete required user details and select appropriate roles.
    4. Click OK to save. (You can adjust roles later.)

  

         

              

Set Up Mobile App Access

After creating the user account:

  1. Go to Staff > Staff Members and open the corresponding staff profile.
  2. Select the Misc tab.
  3. Enter a Username for mobile app login.
  4. For apps such as Operator, Workshop, or POR One, ensure the staff member is linked with a Global User Account if required.

 

          

Remove a User in Syrinx

  1. Open User Management.
    • Navigate to Configuration > Users > Logon Users.
  2. Prepare for removal.
    • Ensure the user’s record has Is Staff Member blank.
    • If the user was added as a staff member, go to Configuration > Administration > Bulk Update > Remove Staff Member and remove them there as well.
    Tip: You must clear Is Staff Member before deleting the user account.
  3. Remove the user.
    • Select the user record and click Delete.
     

          

After Removing a User

  • Refresh Syrinx to apply the change.
  • Optionally mark the user as Inactive or Non-current to retain a record without full deletion.
  • Note: Syrinx does not support bulk removal. Each user must be processed individually.

Can I edit user roles after the account is created?

Yes. Go to Configuration > Users > Logon Users, select the user, and adjust their roles as needed.
