Managing Files in the Cloud
There are two Syrinx365 Cloud clients: Web Browser and Windows Client. Syrinx 365 can be opened with both. The workflow for managing files varies slightly based on the chosen client. See the steps below to decide which is best for your situation.
Managing Files in the Web Browser
- Navigate to the “Hire” button → click “Contracts” under the “Search” header → Use the search to find the contract you want to upload a document to.
- Click the contract to open it.
- Once you have opened the contract, find the “Documents” button at the bottom of the Amend Hire Contract screen.
- A window will pop up with a file management browser. Take note of the path highlighted in the screenshot below. Click the “My Files” button also shown in the screenshot below.
- Once you click “My Files,” a pop-up will open with a file manager. Navigate to the same path as shown in step 4.
- Click the “Upload file(s)” button to add files to this contract.
Managing Files in the Windows Client
Managing files in the Windows Client for Cloud users is similar to the original on-premise process with the following differences.
- Enable Sharing in Settings: When a user chooses the Windows Client for the first time, the user will need to enable sharing of resources. This can be done in the settings through the following steps: Settings → AppStream → Local Resources.
- Utilizing the SERVER Explorer: In the Windows Client, the user will open the SERVER explorer by selecting the 'catalog'/'launch application.' (Wording can vary depending on the version of the desktop client UI that is being used.) This will allow the user to see their local resources (hard drive) and then drag & drop into the CONTRACT explorer.
Using the On-Screen Keyboard in Tablet Mode
- Log in to Syrinx365 Cloud and select the "Web Browser" client.
- Navigate to the location where you would like to enter information. In the example below, I am searching for a hire contract.
- Click the input box where you want to type; the keyboard will not appear initially (as shown below).
- Click the "FN Keys" button on the top navigation bar. Scroll sideways until you see the open "Open on screen keyboard."
- Click the "Open on screen keyboard" button. The on-screen keyboard will pop up, and the "FN Keys" menu will close.
- Use the bottom right icon on the keyboard to hide it when needed. The on-screen keyboard will now pop up as you navigate Syrinx365 Cloud.
- To completely close the keyboard, click the "FN Keys" button on the top navigation bar again. Scroll to the right until you see the "Close on screen keyboard" option. Click this to prevent the keyboard from popping up.
- Note: Depending on the screen size and orientation, the top navigation menu may display only the icons and not the icon labels. The "FN Keys" icon is second-to-last in this row.
- To completely close the keyboard, click the "FN Keys" button on the top navigation bar again. Scroll to the right until you see the "Close on screen keyboard" option. Click this to prevent the keyboard from popping up.
💡Tip: If you're using an iPad and want the keyboard to take up less screen space, consider enabling the Split Keyboard feature. (Availability dependent on your specific Apple product and software version.) To check if this option is available, go to Settings → General → and toggle on Split Keyboard. With this feature enabled, the keyboard will split into two parts, positioned on the right and left sides of the screen, giving you more visibility.
