Known Behaviour: Test Email via Microsoft Falsely Reported as Successful
In earlier versions of the Syrinx client, when using Microsoft as the email provider, the Test Email function could incorrectly display a success message even when the test email had actually failed to send. This meant customers could believe their email configuration was working correctly when it was not.
This behaviour has been fixed in release version v5.25.3. The Syrinx client now correctly reports the outcome of a test email sent via Microsoft — if the send fails, an appropriate failure message will be shown instead of a false success message.
If a customer reports that their email appeared to be set up correctly (based on a successful test result) but emails are still not being received, advise them to re-test after updating to the latest version of the Syrinx client to confirm whether the configuration is genuinely working.
