Syrinx 365 | Release notes v5.6.0 - v5.6.9

Syrinx 365 5.6.0 > 5.6.9 Release Notes

Mobile Work Schedule Search Grid in Syrinx 365 - The Mobile Work Schedule screen is now a search grid in Syrinx 365 allowing users to create their own shared and user views for displaying this information. This will contain the search functionality of resizing columns, moving columns, adding filters, displaying summary panels etc.:

There is also new column of “Type” which can be used to identify the source of the job, i.e. Driver / Workshop / Operator, this can be added as a filter to help when using more than one of the apps.

Ability to Collapse and Expand the Summary Panels on Search Screens - There is now the ability to collapse and expand the summary panels on Local Search Screens:

Clicking the arrow in between the data grid and the summary panel will either collapse or expand the panels.  If you collapse the panels and click another row then the panels will remain collapsed, you would have to expand the panels again to view them (the data will be refreshed for the new row clicked).  If you collapse the panels and then go to another tab in 365, when you return to the original tab the panels will be collapsed still.  Closing the tab and reopening it will have the summary panels in an expanded view

Search screen filters now work in their own container - When adding filters to a search screen will see them in their own container:

Clicking Filters for the first time will open the container and Add Filter will be presented, you can then add filters as required. Clicking Filters again will minimise the container, but there will be a badge displaying the count of filters currently added.

Clicking Filters again will open the container again.

The options to Reset Filters and Remove Filters have been moved out of the Add Filter option and are now buttons at the right of the container.

Clicking  will reset all the filters and take the values out but the filters will remain and can be updated and removed accordingly

Clicking  will remove all of the filters and go back to the Add Filter state

Ability to set the Accounts Department Code on Stock Purchase Orders Entry Screen - Users now have the ability to add/override the Accounts Department Code when entering or amending unconfirmed or open Stock Purchase Orders.  The new field is on the “Nominal Codes” tab of the Enter and Amend Purchase Orders screens and will be pre-populated with the code that would have been automatically set during the purchase invoice process.  This can be overwritten if required.

User Options Saved in Database instead of Registry - Most settings configured in Syrinx User Options will now be saved in a new TH_USER_OPTIONS table instead of in the user's registry key.  Syrinx 365 will first look at this new table for user options and then look in the registry if those values do not exist.  Any existing settings in the registry will be migrated to the database when the user views/sets those settings and the registry values will be removed.

There are a few options, notably "ServerTimeout" and "Diagnostic Mode" that are still recorded in the user's registry as these are required prior to having a database connection and so cannot be stored in the database.

Update Descriptions of Menu/Privilege Items in Set Role Privileges - Some menu/privilege item entries in the "Set Role Privileges" screen will now display a more detailed "Description" value.  Previously, this would just report the name of the menu/privilege item.

Sales Stock Item Search Available to Assign to User Roles - The "Sales Stock Item" search menu privilege should now be available to assign to user roles via Config\Users\Set Role Privileges.

Search Screen Hamburger Menu - The Hamburger Menu option which contains actions has moved slightly from the data grid itself and into the header section, functionality remains the same.

Syrinx 365 to Open ACCDB in Background when Program Starts - The Syrinx 365 client application when now open the MSACCESS .accdb files when the program starts instead of waiting to open them when the user clicks on a menu item that would open the MSACCESS portions of the program.

Limit Syrinx365 Timeout Messages when Opening ACCDB Files – The MSACCESS process should now be notifying the Syrinx 365 client that it is still working so that it does not prematurely issue timeout or slow to open messages.

Update Left Hand Menu in Configuration > Accounts/Invoicing  - The left hand menu for Accounts/Invoicing in

configuration will now say Accts/Invoicing so that it doesn't wrap down to a second line

Update Configuration Menu Options to have Privileges - The following options have been assigned a privilege

so that they can be added/revoked to User Privileges:

   System Options - Search

  Users - Logon Users

  Administration - Print Error/Event Log

Add 'Days' column to Search Fleet Service Jobs – There is a new column of ‘Days’ available on Search Fleet Service Jobs,

this is the number of days the workshop job was open for that is populated and displayed within the job when it is completed.

Ability to switch to Datasheet View in ACCDB – We have added the functionality to switch the view of scrollable records

into the Datasheet view. The keyboard shortcut needs to be applied to a Keyboard Mapping list and if that user has the mapping

and from a search screen goes to ‘Open All’ and the scrollable list supports Datasheet view then clicking the keyboard shortcut

 will change the view.

Changes in v5.6.6

Ability to select partial QTYs on Purchase Invoice Import Tool – There is now the ability to select partial QTYs against a receipt line when manually processing a Purchase Invoice in the Invoice Import Tool. This is for scenarios where the invoice from suppliers doesn’t match the value because they have only invoiced part of the order/receipt, for example we ordered 10 x widgets from a supplier and we received 10 x widgets but when they invoice they are going to send 2 x invoices as they actually came out of different business units, if the invoice import tool is being used and there is a tolerance % set then the invoice will fail as the amount expected is going to be different to the actual amount, so a user can then set the qty to reflect what has been invoiced and the outstanding qty will be unreconciled ready for the next invoice.

Document Number not Included in Filename when Service Job Documents are Saved to PDF – Certain documents from Service Jobs (Fleet and Customer) weren’t including the source document number

Add ability to Cancel on Search Advice Notes – There is now an option to Cancel advice notes that are Unconfirmed via Search Advice Notes. This requires the user to have the ‘Amend/Cancel Advice Note’ privilege and then will go through the normal process for entering a reason.

Syrinx 365 should be more robust when losing connection to the API – If 365 was losing connection to the API then it was timing out after 10 seconds, this has been extended to 30 seconds and console logging has been extended to log more around authorisation and connection details

Ability to export a summary panel grid in S365 to CSV – Certain summary panels within Search screens have the ability to be expanded, these are panels that you would typically want to see more columns in when expanded, the ability to now export the expanded view to CSV has been added

AccDb screens to open on the same monitor as 365 is open on - When using Syrinx 365 on multiple monitors, opening up an AccDb screen should open on the same monitor as 365 is open on now

Reposition 'View Contract Documents' privilege under General in User Privileges - The privilege for 'View Contract Documents' has been repositioned within the privileges so that you don't have to grant users 'Enter Hire Contract' so that they can view the documents

Rework the 'Unconfirmed Hire Contracts' privilege – Unconfirmed Hire Contracts will now be returned in ‘Search Hire Contracts’ so that this search can be used for any hire contracts. The ‘Unconfirmed Hire Contract’ privilege has been moved in the tree view and depending on what other privileges a user has (Query or Amend) will determine how Unconfirmed Hire Contracts are opened, i.e. query or amend

In 365, user depots should not be restricted by "CanSwitchCurrentDepot" privilege - The depots a user should be able to view in the Left Hand Menu > Depots should be driven by the depots they have access to and not driven by the privilege to Switch Current Depots, whether they can actually switch into the depot or not is driven by that privilege. In the Reports menu a user should also be able to view the depots they are linked to on their user

Add Support for Sage Line 50: v31 - The Transfer Tool now supports Sage Line 50 v31

Add signing for App Installer – The App Installer has been signed as a trusted source, so should not come up with a warning as an untrusted source when opening the installer

Support Alternate Terms in S365 – If the system is using Alternate Terms then the 365 screens should reflect these terms and display them.

PORPay - To use transaction status object to provide consistent user messaging. - Syrinx will display a clearer message to include the transaction status object so if a card is declined for example then it will be a more helpful message to include something like ‘Your card has insufficient funds’ then it will be a more helpful message to include something like ‘Your card has insufficient funds’

Changes in v5.6.8

NOTE - When upgrading to v5.6.8 then the AppInstaller v1.4.3 onwards should be used

Ability to import Customers and Customer Sites into Pricing Agreements via the Import Data Function - There is a new import data function to allow user to add Customers and Customer Sites to existing pricing agreements

If the customer is specified with no site name then they will be set to All Sites on the agreement

If the customer and site name is specified then it will validate that the site isn't on another agreement and import it, a row on the import is needed for each site.

Updates to Import Data for Pricing Agreements - There have been some updates to existing Import Data functions:

Pricing Agreements: The Type has been removed as all agreements are Shared now in 365. The column that was NameAccNo has been updated to Name as this is the agreement name now. Start and End Dates have been added so these can be populated straight to the agreement

Pricing Agreements Hire Rates - The Type has been removed as all agreements are Shared now in 365. The column that was NameAccNo has been updated to Name as this is the agreement name now.

Pricing Agreements Sales Rates - The Type has been removed as all agreements are Shared now in 365. The column that was NameAccNo has been updated to Name as this is the agreement name now.

Pricing Agreements Transport Rates - The Type has been removed as all agreements are Shared now in 365. The column that was NameAccNo has been updated to Name as this is the agreement name now.

Add an option to turn on and off the parent freezing feature on User Privileges - When viewing the User Privileges and scrolling the tree view will freeze the parent(s) so that you can see what the options below relate to, when viewing this on a small screen or low resolution the parents that are frozen can take up all of the viewable screen and therefore you can't see the options below, there is now an tickbox to select whether they should freeze or not.

Add Pendo into Day at a Glance - With an upcoming feature of Day at a Glance coming, we have implemented Pendo integration which will give us analytics of when the feature is being used. Currently we are going to be tracking opening of the pages but this can be extended to user journeys and also user guides/tips can be added

Add Pendo to Syrinx 365 Left Hand Menu options – Pendo has also been added to the left hand menu options in Syrinx 365, so when a user is logged in with a global logon we can track what menu options are being clicked – Note Pendo is a separate application so this can’t be viewed within Syrinx

Check the base Crystal Documents for 365 – As Syrinx 365 ships with a base set of crystal documents, a further pass through of the documents is being worked on to check for consistency for items like fonts / header / value fields / description fields can grow etc. Completed documents shipping with this release:

NOTE - From v5.5 onwards any customised or 'tweaked' base documents that are specific to your setup should be copied into the 'Folder for Customised CR Report (.rpt) files' folder within Config > Documents > CR Documents > General tab

The base documents on each install/upgrade will install into the Central Folder above that, so any custom ones should be copied into the Customised Folder so that they aren't overwritten as part of the upgrade process
