Called-off rent allows you to stop the rental time, while not closing the contract. When the item is picked up and brought back to your store, you can close the contract as you normally would.

For this process to work you will need to create a virtual Rental Item from Inventory > Inventory.
The price for this item will be zero dollars as well. We are creating this item as a placeholder when we close out the contract.
After that is complete you can click on Save.
The next step is to create a Configurable Dropdown called Off-Rent. You can do this by going to Configuration > Configurable Dropdown.
Under the Order Status create a new dropdown called Off-Rent.
From within the contract, place that newly created item on the contract.
Close the contract like you would normally do except leave that “Off Rent” as Out. This will not charge any further for your main items that have been called off rent.
Next, change the contract to the Sub Status of Order Off Rent. To do this click on the arrow next to Order.
On the workbench, you can see all the items that you have out as well as this status.
After you finish picking up and receiving items, receive the off-rent items and it will move forward to received/closed status.
