QuikLink Overview (Elite Only)

This article explains how QuikLink provides consumers with a single landing page to view contract details, sign documents, make payments (via POR Pay), and access the Consumer Portal in Point of Rental Elite. It also outlines setup steps, especially for users transitioning from legacy WebPay and eSign systems.

What is QuikLink?

QuikLink is a single landing page (URL) where the consumer (your customer) can:

  • View details about the contract
  • View a PDF of the contract
  • Make a payment (if you utilize POR Pay)
  • Execute an eSign (if you trigger the eSign during the print/email process)
  • Log in to their Consumer Portal

How QuikLinks Works

Quiklinks automatically generate links for those using the Consumer Portal and POR Pay. These links can either be emailed (auto-inserted in any email with an associated contract) or sent as an SMS text.

In versions 2026.02 and later, a link sent while the contract is a quote will still recognize the contract after it is converted to a reservation.

Email

  1. In Elite, when you select the print option "Email electronic signature," a refreshed eSign link will be created. When this option is selected, the link will look different ({ESIGNLINK}) but will still point to the QuikLink URL.
  2. The consumer (your customer) receives an email with a QuikLink and clicks "Click Here to Review Your Order." Please note that QuikLink will not display if legacy eSign or WebPay links remain in templates.

  3. They're taken to a QuikLink page with:

    • Contract number

    • Balance due, taxes, and grand total

    • Contract PDF download option

    • eSign and/or Payment options (if applicable)

    • Detailed line items (name, image, description from Elite)

SMS

ℹ️ This feature is available in Elite versions 2025.11+

ℹ️ To use this feature, you must have a Twilio account configured in Elite. See the article Set Up Twilio SMS Integration in Elite to learn more.

You can send your customers a text message with a QuikLink where they can follow the link to view their contract on a mobile device.

Message Setup

Go to Email Letters > Add or Edit the Message > Check the "Text QuikLink" box.

  1. Go to the Gear icon

  2. Under Core Options, select App Configuration> System Configurations

  3. Select Email Letters. You will need the appropriate security access to make these changes.

  4. Find the message to update or press Add.

  5. Check the "Text QuikLink" box.

  6. Press Ok to save.

How it Works

To send an SMS Quiklink, choose to print the contract by going through Modify or by right-clicking on it in Day at a Glance, Customer Dashboard, etc. From this print screen, select the radio button for ‘Text Quiklink’ and then ‘Print’.

The screen below will pop up. If you need an eSign signature, check the box before clicking ‘Send.’

Important Update for Legacy WebPay and eSign Users

The Quiklink URL will automatically be embedded in any consumer-facing contract email, but only if the legacy WebPay AND eSign hyperlinks are not set into the template/email.

If you're still using our legacy WebPay product, you must create a new email template or edit current templates to ensure the updated Quiklink hyperlink displays properly for consumers. Since QuikLink offers functionality for BOTH eSign and Payments, you must remove these links from all templates to get the QuikLink hyperlink.

Required Changes

  1. REMOVE eSign hyperlinks from ALL templates

  2. REMOVE WebPay hyperlinks from all templates

  3. NOTIFY the POR Web Support team that you are no longer using your WebPay module so it can be deactivated. This will prevent your customers from accessing previously emailed quotes or reservations' web payment links.

⚠️ QuikLink will not display if legacy eSign or WebPay links remain in templates.

Accessing the Consumer Portal

QuikLink supports consumers signing up for dedicated Consumer Portal access by clicking the 'Login for More Info'

This will display our Login Prompt, which supports existing consumer logins, registering for an account, and resetting their password. If they do not want access to the Consumer Portal they can press "Back to QuikLink".

Forgot Password

If an existing customer is having trouble logging in, they can reset their password by clicking the 'Forgot Password' prompt.

Creating an Account

If a consumer is new to the Consumer Portal, they will click 'Create your Account Now' and follow those prompts.

Viewing the Contract PDF

We support the consumer downloading their contract PDF. The PDF can be 'protected' by requiring a login to the Consumer Portal.

If they do not have a login, they must create an account. If the consumer has already registered, they can log in or follow the reset password prompts if they are having trouble logging in.

eSignatures

Most rental stores require an eSignature, so we've built it into our QuikLink to make the process easier for our customers.

The consumer will be presented with their Contract PDF and store terms and conditions, followed by a prompt to sign digitally.

How it Works

When selecting the print option "Email electronic signature" from within Elite, a refreshed eSign link is automatically generated. The link will look different (you'll see a variable like {ESIGNLINK}), but it still points to the same QuikLink URL.

Tracking Requested eSignatures

You can monitor the triggering and completion of eSignatures by turning on the eSign column in Day at a Glance. This is typically used on the Reservations tab:

  • Requested – indicates an eSign request was sent using the "Email electronic signature" print option.

  • On File – the consumer has completed and signed the contract.

  • Blank – no eSign request has been initiated.

Making a Payment (Requires POR Pay)

ℹ️ POR Pay is required for Payment.

QuikLink supports consumers paying directly from QuikLink by clicking 'Make a Payment.' Additionally, the payment button only displays if a balance is owed. If there's a credit or no balance owed, the Make a Payment button will not display.

The consumer will be presented with the options you set in Elite. Once they select the amount they want to pay, they can click 'Click to Make a Secure Payment.'

This will load POR Pay and prompt the consumer to validate payment details to process their payment. They can press the Process to complete the transaction.

Item Details from Elite

ℹ️The information must be in Elite to display correctly within QuikLink.

If a consumer wants additional information on a line item, QuikLink pulls the data from Elite to display the item name, images, and description.

In the example below, the store did not enter a description because it only displays an image and the item's name.
