General

Your Dashboard Layouts Will Save Now!
We've fixed an issue where your carefully arranged dashboard widgets weren't saving properly for non-admin users. Now, when you move things around just how you like them, they'll stay put after you refresh or navigate away and return. Just a heads-up: your current saved dashboard layout will reset one time upon your first login after this update, but any changes you make from then on will stick like glue!

Same Day Rentals Get Their Return Date Right!
Good news for those using 'By the Day' rentals, especially the ones set to be returned on the same day they're rented! We've corrected a bug causing the system to miscalculate the return date. Now, you can rest easy knowing the due date for these quick turnaround rentals will be calculated accurately every time.

Overbooking Warnings Are Smarter About Kits
We've smoothed out a tricky situation involving overbooking warnings when you're working with kits. Previously, in a specific scenario where you added a kit and then also added one of its components as a separate line item, you might have seen an incorrect overbooking warning after adjusting quantities. This update fixes that logic, so overbooking warnings involving kits and their standalone components are now accurate.

Inventory Valuation Report Shows Correct Per-Unit Price
For those who rely on the Inventory Valuation Report, we've made an important correction. The report was previously showing the total purchase price for items bought in bulk quantities (like cases) instead of the individual unit price. It will now correctly display the purchase price per item, giving you a more precise valuation of your inventory.

Reports Run Faster and More Reliably!
Tired of reports timing out or hitting you with an 'Internal Server Error'? We were, too! We've significantly improved the performance and stability of several reports, including the 'Closed Transactions with Outstanding Balances' report. These updates should help prevent timeouts and errors, especially when running reports with large date ranges or lots of data, making your reporting much faster and more reliable. Please use reasonable date ranges. Running a report for half a decade is still not advised. Large volume reports should be scheduled for delivery via email.

Updated Reports

Closed Transactions with Outstanding Balances, Asset Sale List, Combined Picklist, Future Transactions by Inventory Item, Cross Store Pull List, Inactive Inventory, Outstanding Invoice List, Inventory Income, Inventory List, Transaction List [Multistore], Sales Funnel by Employee [Multistore], Scheduled Maintenance, Scheduled Maintenance Due, Serialized Inventory History, Stock Use, Transaction History, Transaction List, Transaction List With ItemId

Storefront

Storefront 2.0 now supports multi-store configurations, making it available to all Essentials customers.

We recommend reading these and understanding the impact before updating. These features may require adjustments to security or configuration and may have implications for your operations or current workflows.

Default Start Time Configuration for Date Picker

We added a new configuration to set the default start time when using the date/time picker. When the date is not today, the new setting for the default start time will be entered as the start time. This will make it faster, with fewer clicks, to enter the correct start and end times. If the date is today, the start time will work as it does now, entering the current time to the nearest future hour. This feature works on the Select Dates at the top of the page, on the product detail page, and in the cart. It works in the standard version, Storefront 2.0, and mobile.

Fix for Add to Cart Issue

Resolved a desktop display issue that prevented users from adding items to the cart due to image sizing problems.

Login Prompt Placement Fixed

Adjusted the login prompt location on embedded storefronts to ensure it's easily visible and accessible.

Removed Empty Categories

Storefronts now automatically hide category tiles that don’t contain any available, web-visible items.

Fix: Empty Categories No Longer Show on Storefront

We’ve fixed an issue where empty categories were still appearing on some storefronts, even if no items were available or marked to show online.

  • What changed: Categories with no visible inventory will now be hidden automatically, ensuring a cleaner and more accurate storefront.
  • This improves the customer experience by showing only what’s truly available, reducing confusion and building trust.

Note on Storefront Changes:

We are constantly working to improve the user experience, performance, and visual layout of the Point of Rental Storefront service. As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the user experience, we have identified necessary structural changes to the Storefront HTML that include a high chance of impacting Custom CSS layouts. If you have Custom CSS, please follow the steps below to make sure you are not impacted.
Review your Custom CSS
  • Please check your storefront to confirm there are no conflicts with your custom CSS.
  • Make any changes needed to ensure that your designs still function as intendedIf you need to remove any custom CSS, please find instructions here.
