BI CVW Utilization – Overview
Purpose:
This view provides a comprehensive look at item utilization across all stores, tracking how many items are owned, purchased, sold, and their overall cost. It helps management understand inventory usage, evaluate asset performance, and make data-driven purchasing and stocking decisions.
What’s Included:
Item & Inventory Info:

Item number, name, key, and header information.

Current quantity on hand.

Store where the item is located.
-
Item group and category details.
-
Division name for organizational context.

Item type (e.g., Rental Normal, Rental Hour, Rental Misc). Only includes rental items. No sales items.
Cost & Ownership Info:

Month and year of transactions.

Total OEC (Original Equipment Cost) per item.

Quantity of items owned during the period.
How It Works:

Combines item master data (ItemFile) with purchase and sales history (ItemPurchaseDetail and SoldAssetFile).

Aggregates cost and quantity by month and year to show trends in ownership and utilization.

Filters out inactive or anomalous items (e.g., quantities over 90,000 or inactive items).
-
Includes only relevant item types for operational reporting.

Evaluate which items are under- or over-utilized.
