Windows 10/11
From your Start Menu, look for ‘Remote Desktop Connection’ and open the application.
From this window, type in the IP Address or Computer name in the Computer field, then click ‘Show Options.’
This will open up more options to place your username and change some other settings. Let’s go through them one by one.
General Tab
This is where you can type in the Computer name and Username. You can save this to your desktop by clicking the ‘Save As’ button.
Display Tab
This is where you can configure your Display Configuration and Colors. It is recommended that you set your colors to ‘High Color (16 Bit)’.
Local Resources Tab
This is where you can configure some of your local resources to come to your Point of Rental Server. Unchecking the ‘Printers’ box is recommended as it will cause complications with the Point of Rental application.
Experience Tab
This option will allow you to help your Remote Desktop Connection perform at its best! ‘Low-speed broadband (256 kbps-2 Mbps)’ is recommended. This way, you won’t be slowed down on your day-to-day.
Advanced Tab
Finally, the ‘Advanced’ tab will allow you to configure the Remote Desktop Connection in a certain way. This is primarily used by your System administrator.
Saving Settings
After configuring your Remote Desktop Connection to your Point of Rental Server, go to the ‘General’ tab and click ‘Save as’ to save the icon to your desktop.
