Sign In, Get Support, and Set Up Your Screens in Elite Cloud

With the move to Elite Cloud, you now sign in at a new address through your organization's single sign-on, the support tools have moved, and Winform screens display differently depending on the monitor mode you choose. After following this article, you'll be able to sign in, find the Support Panel, share console errors with Point of Rental support, and set up single- or multi-monitor mode for your workspace.

Applies To

All Elite Cloud users. No special permissions required.

Before You Begin

  • Sign-in goes through your organization, not Elite. Elite Cloud uses your organization's single sign-on (SSO), so your organization's identity provider controls how you sign in. If you're not sure how SSO is set up for you, check with your system administrator before you start.

  • Your browser affects some tasks. The console steps in this article are for Chrome. Copy and paste also works differently in Safari.

Signing In to Elite Cloud with SSO

Everyone now signs in to Elite at a new address.

  1. Go to https://elite.pointofrental.com/login. Update any saved bookmarks or shortcuts to the new address.

  2. If you plan to use multi-monitor mode, check the Multi-monitor Client box before you complete sign-in. See Setting Up Multi-Monitor Mode below for more information.

  3. Sign in through your organization's single sign-on (SSO) or your Elite-specific username and password. SSO lets you sign in through your organization's identity provider instead of using an Elite-specific username and password.

Getting Help and Support

You can find your help resources by going to the left menu > Help (Question mark icon).

From here, you'll be able to select the following options:

  • uLearn - Opens the knowledge base, where you can search help articles and step-by-step guides for using the software.

  • AI Support Chat - Opens a chat with an AI assistant that answers your product questions and points you to relevant help articles, at any time of day.

  • Remote Help - Starts a remote support session so a Support team member can view your screen and help you troubleshoot an issue directly.

  • Software Suggestion (uInnovate) - Opens a form where you can submit ideas for new features or improvements to the software and share them with the Product team.

Sharing Console Errors with Support

Point of Rental support may ask for console errors or other page details. If you're using Elite in Chrome, you can get these directly from your browser.

  1. Press F12, or right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect. This opens Developer Tools, Chrome's built-in panel for viewing page details.

  2. Click the Console tab to view errors and other page details.

Checking Which Licenses Are Assigned to Your System

GAdmin is the system of record for your licenses. It is the source of truth for which licenses are assigned to your Elite system.  If you have questions about what's licensed for your organization, reach out to your account representative or Point of Rental support.

Choosing Single-Monitor or Multi-Monitor Mode

Elite Cloud gives you two ways to work with the classic Elite application windows (also known as Winforms): single-monitor mode and multi-monitor mode. Single-monitor mode is the default.

Single-Monitor Mode

  • All Winform screens display together on a single browser tab called Applications.

  • A task bar just above the Elite tabs shows icons for switching between your open Winform screens.

  • No extra setup is required: Elite works this way unless you turn on multi-monitor mode.

Setting Up Multi-Monitor Mode

In multi-monitor mode, Winform screens detach from the main Elite window so you can drag and drop them onto other monitors. This mode requires the AppStream Client, a desktop app you download from the Elite login window.

Pro Tip: You'll get the best experience when all your monitors are the same size. Different-sized monitors, such as a laptop screen paired with an external display, are supported too, but you may need to resize windows manually to fit.

  1. On the login window, click the AppStream Client download link at the bottom of the window and install the app.

  2. After installing the app, check the Multi-monitor Client box before signing in. You must do this at sign-in because it tells Elite to open in multi-monitor mode.

  3. In Elite, click the monitor icon to launch the AppStream Client.

  4. Drag and drop screens onto your other monitors.

  5. Use the Windows taskbar to switch between open Winform screens. Switching follows standard Windows behavior, not the in-app taskbar used in single-monitor mode.

  6. When you log off for the day, close all Elite-related screens on all of your monitors.

Copying and Pasting in Chrome and Safari

How copy and paste works depends on the browser you use to launch Elite.

  • Chrome: Copy and paste work as expected, using right-click or Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V.

  • Safari: Standard right-click and Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V shortcuts aren't supported. Use the copy/paste feature built into the AppStream Client instead. You'll mainly notice this when you copy information into Elite from outside sources, such as another application or website.

More Information / FAQ

Q: What if I can't sign in, or I'm not sure how SSO is set up for my organization?
A: Contact your system administrator or Point of Rental support.

Q: Will multi-monitor mode work if my monitors are different sizes, such as a laptop paired with an external display?
A: Yes. Different-sized monitors are supported, but you may need to resize windows manually to fit. You'll get the best experience when all your monitors are the same size.

Q: If I open more than one Elite session in my browser, do I get a second set of Winform screens?
A: No. You can open more than one Elite application in your browser at the same time. However, only one Applications tab (single-monitor mode) or one AppStream Client (multi-monitor mode) holds your open Winform screens at any time.

Q: Who do I contact if I have questions about what's licensed for my organization?
A: Reach out to your account representative or Point of Rental support.
