Uploading Web Documents via File Management (Rental Hosting Elite Cloud)

Overview

This guide explains how to upload and publish documents—such as privacy policies, terms and conditions, or other resource files—using the File Management system in Rental Hosting Elite Cloud environments.

Due to system requirements, documents can no longer be placed directly into the web content folder. Instead, files must be uploaded to the cloud and then downloaded into the correct web content directory.

Process Overview

To publish a document, you will:

  1. Upload the file to the cloud (File Management)

  2. Download it from the cloud

  3. Save it into the web content folder

  4. Update the website

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Point of Rental (POR) system

  • Permissions to access Configuration and File Management

  • Document saved locally (e.g., PDF on your computer)

  • Knowledge of your site folder and destination folder (e.g., Policies)

Key Terms

  • File Management: Cloud-based file storage tool within POR

  • Open on Server: Opens the file within the POR cloud environment so it can be saved to the correct location

  • Web Content Folder: Local directory where website files are stored (e.g., POR → Web Content)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Prepare the Document

  1. Ensure the document (e.g., PDF) is saved locally on your computer.

  2. Confirm the file is finalized and ready for upload.

Upload the Document to File Management

  1. From the POR dashboard, navigate to:

    • Configuration → Tools → File Management

       2. Locate your user folder:

    • Typically found under POR → Users → [Your Username or Folder]

       3. Click Upload.

        4. Browse to the file on your computer and select it.

        5. Confirm the upload.

    • The file is now stored in the cloud.

Download and Open the File from the Cloud

  2. Select the file and click Download.

This opens the file in the POR cloud environment.

        4. Top right corner of the PDF, click Save.

Save the File to the Web Content Folder

  1. In the save dialog, navigate to your local POR directory.

    Example: C:\POR\Web Content\Site001\Web Docs\Policies

  2. Select the correct destination folder:
    • Common example: Web Docs → Policies

        3. Click Save.

Important: The system may default to your Downloads folder. Be sure to manually navigate to the correct web content folder before saving.

  2. Navigate to the page where the document should appear.

  3. Refresh the page.

  4. Confirm the document is visible and accessible.

Tips and Notes

  • Files must go through File Management (cloud upload → download → save). Direct placement is no longer supported.

  • Ensure you are saving to the correct:

    • Destination folder (e.g., Policies)

  • If a file with the same name already exists, it may be overwritten.

  • Allow a few moments for files to load when opening from the server.

Troubleshooting

  • File does not appear on the website:

    • Confirm the file was saved to the correct folder

    • Run Update Website again

    • Refresh the browser (try a hard refresh or clear cache)

  • File saved to wrong location:

    • Repeat the download process and save to the correct folder

  • Cannot find your user folder in File Management:
