What This Solves
-
Eliminates delays between RMS changes and website updates
-
Reduces reliance on Support for timing-related sync questions
-
Provides clearer visibility into sync activity and outcomes
Who Can Run a Manual Sync
-
Store Admins (for their own store)
-
Super Admins (across stores)
| ℹ️ Sync activity is shared across both roles. If one user starts a sync, the other will see it in progress. |
How to Run a Manual Sync (Store Admin)
-
Open Front-End Configuration
-
Locate the RMS Data Synchronization section
-
Click Sync All Data from RMS
While the sync runs, the button disables and displays an in-progress state. Once complete, the Last Synced date/time updates automatically.
What Happens During Sync
The manual sync refreshes key website data from your RMS, such as categories, inventory, and supporting catalog data. Only one sync can run at a time to prevent conflicts.
Visibility & Status (Super Admin)
Super Admins have access to enhanced sync visibility, including:
-
Last sync time per data set
-
Status (Running, Completed, Failed)
-
Records processed vs. updated
-
Completion timestamps
Timing Expectations (Important)
Manual sync leverages the same background scheduled tasks that run every 60 minutes. The visibility of your changes depends on the type of data updated:
-
Immediate Changes: Some types of critical data updates appear on the storefront immediately upon a successful sync (e.g., pricing and availability).
-
Delayed Changes: Other types of data, such as product descriptions, product names, menu labels, and certain metadata, may take up to 60 minutes to appear after clicking the Sync button, as they are processed in the next scheduled window. This behavior is expected and does not indicate a failure.
Note for Sync Button Display: It is recommended to display the following concise message near the Sync button for quick user guidance: "Changes may take up to 60 minutes to appear on your storefront. If edits aren’t visible after an hour, try Sync again or contact Support. Learn more."
Quick Troubleshooting Checklist
If you have made a change in your RMS and it is not appearing on the storefront, follow these steps:
-
After making the change, navigate to the Front-End Configuration and click Sync All Data from RMS.
-
Wait up to 60 minutes for the sync process to complete and for the data to be processed, then refresh the storefront page.
-
If the change is still not visible after an hour, click Sync All Data from RMS again and check the storefront after a short wait.
-
If the change is still missing after retrying, contact Support with the following details to speed up resolution:
-
Your storefront URL.
-
The product or menu item name that is missing the update.
-
The date and time the change was initially made in the RMS.
-
Screenshots of the change in the RMS, if available.
-
Bottom Line
You control when your website updates. No waiting on Support, no guessing, and clear visibility into sync activity.
