Service Contracts (Service Module)
To use this feature, you must be licensed for the Service Module.
Does your business service on-rent equipment or on-site recurring services, such as cleaning or refueling? If so, you know that inefficient routing and scheduling can quickly eat away profits. However, with the recurring service planning feature, you can quickly set the service requirements for an item that will automatically notify you anytime it needs service while out on rent. Service schedules are created directly from the rental contract, and adjustments can be made easily when service requirements need to be temporarily suspended, increased, or decreased to meet demand. Pairing Point-of-Rental’s award-winning Dispatch Center with this feature, service routes are optimized effortlessly, eliminating wasted time and fuel. GPS Integration allows all stop information to be uploaded wirelessly, storing the complete history of service information in the contract. Additionally, visual tracking of vehicles keeps your dispatchers informed at all times.

Creating Service Contracts
Any services created can be found in Day at a Glance > Service Calls tab. If you do not use this feature, Point of Rental will automatically create service contracts two days after the end of the day is run.
- Expert: Program Menu > Counter System > Tools > Create Service Contracts
Elite: Transactions > Create Service Contracts - Select the Store Location.
- Select the frequency for the service (Daily, Weekly, Monthly).
- Select the number of days you want the contracts created for.
- Press Continue. This will look for services created through the contracts within the assigned time and create service contracts.
Accessing Service Contracts
This feature allows you to create service contracts, which can be accessible through Day at a Glance under the Service Calls tab.
Expert: Program Menu > Counter System > Day at a Glance > Service tab
Elite: Tools (left-menu) > Day at a Glance > Service tab
Closing Service Contracts
Please note that during the end-of-day process, any service contract older than thirty days with no repair cost assigned will be auto-closed.
- If using Expert, go to Counter System > Day at a Glance > Service Calls tab.
If using Elite, go to Tools > Day at a Glance > Service Calls tab.
- Set a date from the Service Calls tab in Day at a Glance. You can close service contracts up to 14 days from the date selected.
- Go up to Options and select Close All Service Contracts.
Note: During the end-of-day process, any service contract older than thirty days with no repair cost assigned will be auto-closed.
