Undiscounted Category Revenue

Category income that is reported out of Elite has already taken into account that the discount has been removed. However, depending on your accounting needs, you may want to report on the undiscounted amount by category. This functionality can be achieved by utilizing the discounts account numbers fields in account numbers and on the item category setup screens.

Set-Up

In order to take advantage of this feature, the account numbers must be filled in on the Account Numbers and Item Category screens. Otherwise, the general ledger/data entries will continue to report discounted income.

App Configurations>Accounting Configurations>Account Numbers

Discounts Given is in the Expense Accounts Column.

App Configuration>Item Configuration>Item Categories

Discounts Expense is the last field in the Account Numbers section. To get the category breakout, at least one income account GL must be filled out on the category level as well.

With these populated, entries will begin being generated when the contracts post income and an end-of-day is run.
