BI CVW ItemsWarranty – Overview

Purpose

This view provides information about warranties associated with items. It helps operations, procurement, and support teams track warranty coverage for inventory, ensuring proper maintenance, claims processing, and vendor follow-up.

What it contains

• Item Info:
  

  • Item number to identify the product.

  • Part or component covered by the warranty (WarrantyPart).
    
    

• Warranty Details:
  

  • Start date of the warranty.

  • End date of the warranty.

  • Vendor number providing the warranty.

• Can join to the Item table to get the Item details

How It Works:

Pulls data directly from the ItemWarranty table. Each record represents one warranty associated with a specific item and part.

Uses:

• Verify if an item is still under warranty before repair or replacement.

• Track warranty coverage by vendor for claims or reporting.

• Support operational planning and customer service by identifying items with active or expired warranties.
