Overview
This article will explain how to integrate and use a barcode scanning app to use with Mobile WorkForce when scanning item barcodes to look them up on contracts.
In Mobile Workforce you are able to scan barcodes to look up items on contracts. This will only work for Android devices. This is not applicable to Apple products.
For Android phones, there is a keyboard with barcode scanning capabilities that you can download from the Google Play Store. The app that has been tested is called Barcode & QR Code Keyboard.
Note: The app is free to use but has pop-up ads.
In Mobile WorkForce, you can use either search by contract or by item.
1. Under the search options, select the barcode radio button.
2. Ensure the cursor is in the search field.
3. Use the barcode icon on the keyboard to scan your item's barcode.
4. Press the search button once the barcode is scanned.
