Changing Cash Customer to Account Customer

This article explains both how to change a cash customer to an account customer and how to change the method of payment on a contract to account.

Changing a customer from cash to account
1. Go to Program Menu > File Maintenance > Customer File.
2. Enter the customer name and select the cash customer.
3. From the Functions tab, choose Modify.
4. Under the Information tab, you can change the status of the customer from Cash to On Account. Click OK.
5. A window will display asking if you want to update all current contracts to on account. Select yes or no accordingly.
Changing a contract from cash to account
Customers that have cash contracts written prior to being changed to an account customer will leave their contracts as cash. You can change the contract to be on account by taking the following steps:
1. Open the Counter System from the Program Menu.
2. Select Modify Contract.
3. Enter the customer name or contract number.
4. Select the appropriate contract and go to the payment screen.
5. Put in 0.00 for the rental/sale amount.
6. Choose the payment type of E-On Account then click OK.
7. Choose print or no print. The contract is now an Account Contract.
Note: If a partial payment has been entered on the contract, you will not be able to change to an account contract.
