Set Up System Notifications for All Consumer Portal Payments

You can configure a system notification that alerts you every time a payment (full and partial) is made through the Consumer Portal. This can be set up for one store or all stores.

  1. Go to App Configurations > Reports and Notifications > System Notifications.

  2. Create a new notification or edit an existing notification you want to use for Consumer Portal payments.

  3. Select whether the notification applies to one store or all stores, based on your business needs.

  4. Confirm that the notification is sent using the default delivery method specified in the operator profile for the assigned operator.

Receive Payment Notifications as a Transaction Sales Rep

If you are assigned as the transaction sales rep on a contract, you automatically receive a notification when a payment is made for that contract through the Consumer Portal.

  1. Make sure you are assigned as the transaction sales rep on the contract.

  2. When the customer makes a payment through the Consumer Portal, you receive a notification for that contract.

  3. You cannot modify this notification at this time; it is generated automatically when a payment is received for your assigned contract.

Important Notes

Note 1: System notifications can be configured for one store or all stores. Make sure you choose the scope that matches how your teams work.

Note 2: If you are both the transaction sales representative and included on a system notification, you may receive multiple notifications for the same payment.

Note 3: System notifications use the default delivery method defined in the assigned operator profile. If someone is not receiving notifications, check their operator settings first.

More Information / FAQ

Do I get both types of notifications if I am a sales rep and also set up a system notification?

Yes. You receive the automatic transaction sales rep notification and the system notification if both apply to you.

Can I change how the automatic transaction sales rep notification is delivered?

No. Delivery settings for the automatic transaction sales rep notification are not customizable at this time.

Do these notifications work for all payment types in the Consumer Portal?

Yes. Notifications are sent for every successful payment that posts to the contract, including:

  • Full payments

  • Partial payments

Important: Only successful payments trigger notifications. Failed payment attempts do not generate a message.

Who should set up the system notification for Consumer Portal payments?

Anyone who needs visibility into all Consumer Portal payments for one or more stores, such as operations managers, accounting, or store leadership, can be configured as the operator for the system notification.

Are notifications sent one-per-transaction or one-per-session?

Notifications are sent one per contract payment event. Examples:

  • If a customer pays two contracts in one portal visit → two notifications

  • If the customer submits three separate payments → three notifications
