Overview Screen

The overview screen is going to be a brief overview of what the consumer portal is, as well as what you can do with the Consumer Portal Basic and the Advance Consumer Portal.

What’s the Difference?

The What’s the Difference area will take you to the Point of Rental Site which has more detail on the Consumer Portal. If you want more information on our Advance Portal, you can fill out a form for your account manager to contact you.

Advanced Setup

Now that we've covered some of the basics, let's personalize your consumer portal. When you click the Advanced Setup tab, you can choose your URL, Logos, and Marketing Colors!

Choose your URL

By default, we provide you a URL to get you up and going, but you can customize it for your business to let your customers know you mean business! A few rules, though:

  • Your unique store name (we will run validation to make sure the name is unique)

  • No spaces.

  • No ".com" entries.

Logo and Icon Upload

You may already have a logo in the system; however, this one is specific to the Consumer Portal. The spacing for the logo is primarily horizontal in shape. You can enter a horizontal logo here if you normally have a "stacked" logo. Any change you make here will not affect other portions of the application. Some rules for your Logos and Images

Logo Rules

  • The logo size is 300 pixels wide or 74 pixels high.

  • SVG format is preferred, but PNG and JPEG are also accepted. To ensure the logo's best display, remove any blank space around it.

Icon Rules

  • The icon should be a square image. Any size can be loaded & displayed at 16x16 pixels high.

  • SVG format is preferred, but PNG and JPEG are also accepted. The icon will appear in your browser bar as a "favicon" next to your company name.

Primary and Secondary Colors

Now, let's make your portal shine with your marketing colors. You can choose Primary and Secondary Colors using the HEX system. Once you are done, you can see what your screen will look like to make sure nothing looks off.

Store Name and Email Addresses

Enter your Store Name, select your preferred language for the Consumer Portal (default is US English), and set up how your Customers can reach you—either by request or if they need support, as we do.

We recommend creating email addresses that multiple employees can access to ensure no customer requests are missed. For example:

  • Requests: For Call-Offs, use an address like requests@xyzrentals.com.

  • Service: For service requests, use an address like service@xyzrentals.com that your service department can access.

  • Support: For inquiries about access to the Consumer Portal, use a shared address like supportservices@xyzrentals.com.

Additionally, you can choose whether to display your Privacy Policy and require acceptance during registration. Switch ON to display and require acceptance, or OFF to hide it. Enter the URL for your Privacy Policy; if left blank, the default policy will be used.

You can also set a default payment store for multi-contract payments.

Finally, you can select a "deposit"/Initial Payment text setting and choose whether to enable/disable access to different features.
Once you are finished making changes, click Save

Account List

The Account List Area allows you to impersonate your customers so you can see what they see. This will be helpful for troubleshooting and more. Remember, with great power comes great responsibility!
