How to Automatically Delete CC Tokens When Closing a Contract 

Here’s how to ensure your credit card tokens are being removed as your contracts close, based on your Point of Rental software. If your CC processor charges for storage of tokens, this will help you reduce your liability.

Using Expert

Configurations > System Configurations > Parameters > Drawer Tab > Check the box for Remove CC Tokens


Using Elite

The Configuration Gear > In Core Options select App Configurations > System Configurations > Parameters > Drawer Tab > Check the box for Remove CC Tokens


Using Essentials

Log into Essentials > Configuration > Company Configuration > Tax and Payment Options > Check the Box “Delete Old Moneris Tokens.” Make sure to hit “Save” to save the changes.

Deleting Credit Card Tokens

The below options are the methods available to you to delete Moneris tokens. Contact Moneris for assistance to perform these options. They will delete ALL tokens in your vault. The downside of doing this is that every current contract’s tokens will be cleared as well. Moneris will not use any filter to only delete old tokens.

Unfortunately, Point of Rental clears the tokens from our database when a contract is completed, so we can’t help access old tokens to delete. When paired with the instructions for deleting new tokens when contracts are complete, this should minimize your stored tokens and your payments for Moneris’s tokenization fees.

 

Option 1
 

Use a spreadsheet to mark the tokens to delete en masse.

This is probably the best option, but is also the most complicated. Moneris has some instructions for exporting all of the tokens to a spreadsheet. You can then update the spreadsheet with the tokens you want to keep. Reload that spreadsheet to mark the tokens for deletion.

Option 2

Your other option is to log into your Moneris portal and to individually delete tokens from the vault. Depending on how many tokens you have, this can be a very time-consuming process.
