02/22/2023 v2023.03

We are listening!  Items with this label are a result of your suggestions in uInnovate.  Please continue to share and support those ideas that help your business.

We recommend reading these and understanding the impact prior to updating.  These features may require adjustments to security or configuration and may have implications for your operations or current workflows.

Cloned Contract and Nontaxable Flags on Items:  When a contract is cloned, the nontaxable flag of the item will be checked and updated on the new contract if it has changed since the original contract was written.  What a festive update now that tax season is upon us.  Make sure you leave out milk and a calculator for when your H&R Block shimmies down your chimney.

Esign Next Signature: Your customers now have the ability to hit 'next' after each signature. This helps if your document is many pages and the signatures are far apart.

Memory Lane Monday: This is a fun corner where we republish release notes from previous sprints you may have forgotten about.

Rate Engine Shifts:  Sometimes, the same generator can be rented for different shifts.  When Steve rents it, you only want to give him the standard 8 hours of run time before incurring charges.  But when your buddy Gary rents it, you want to give him a double shift of 16 hours.  This can be managed by setting up rate engines labeled for the different shifts and then setting the hours in a day under meter overtime to correspond with the desired shift.  These can then be assigned on a transaction basis.

(Guys, pay attention to the note below.  I feel like a lot of you are clicking more than you need to.  It’s the little things.)

Workforce: 11/1/2018: Submit screens that don’t require further input and all confirmation screens will now have a ‘Don’t show this screen again’ option to give the user a more streamlined experience.

Release Notes (informational only)

In the past, we have kept the Expert and the Elite release notes in separate camps to avoid confusion.  However, we think it’s time that the fence comes down between The Sandlot and The Beast.  After all, we’re all on the same baseball..er…software team. Because Elite is the next evolution of Expert, the latest and greatest technology moving toward the future, we thought it would be beneficial for our Expert customers to be in the know.  As Elite features release and mature you may find functionality that you just can’t live without.  While new features in Expert are limited due to its older technology, fear not, Expert will continue to be supported.  Below are the release notes that our Elite customers received for this release; there is also a link to the Elite Release notes on the home page of this site if you are interested in learning more about past Elite releases.

Summary Panel Display:  On the display of a search grid or on the selection of a record from a search, a summary panel is displayed on the left-hand side of the browser display.  In an effort to consolidate real estate, this will now be collapsed by default.  The single arrow will expand the panel and the double arrow next to the drag icon will collapse this panel.  The containers within the summary panel can now also be rearranged according to the preferred order. When the ‘drag’ icon is selected (a group of six stacked dots), the user can drag and drop the containers into place.

Public API - Product Post and Patch:  Work has been done on the product endpoint to support POST and PATCH. This is so users can integrate and send records or updates from MS Business Dynamics 365.

Widget Performance:  Users with the King Sized Baby Ruth databases have been experiencing some performance issues around the display of widgets.  Now with some tweaks to the queries and a few oompa loompas behind the scenes, these widgets are displaying and filtering faster than the S.S. Wonkatonia careening down the chocolate river.

Vertex - Jobsite External Tax Code:  A field has been created in both the core and browser jobsite forms so that a tax code can also be set against these records when making the tax call to the Vertex tax integration service.  This is useful for setting exemptions against specific job sites independent of the usual tax codes.

Left Menu Contract Options:  In a previous release, we removed Send Out, Close, Clone, and Void Contract from the left-hand menu.  To our logic, those could be accessed from within various other places in the program users would already be in and seemed redundant from here. However, we did not realize they were so commonly used because of how convenient it was to open the contract selection window and automatically have a list of contracts that needed to be addressed by that action for the current day.  So we put it back.  No need to shout.

Availability Column:  A new column has been added to the column options within the inventory selection screen.  When selected, date fields appear in the top left of the inventory screen.  When accessed from a contract, these date fields will auto-populate based on date in/out or delivery/pickup dates, if present.  When the inventory selection screen is accessed from file maintenance, purchase orders, or item availability, the user can set the dates manually.  The column will then populate and show the quantity available for an item, based on the dates set in the selection screen. Pretty neato mosquito.
