Basic Single-User Requirements

Below are the Point of Rental Software PC requirements that can help you get a Microsoft Windows PC to host your Point of Rental Software application. First read the Warning section to see configurations to avoid. You will also find example PC specifications in the PC Requirements section based on the number of Point of Rental Software end users. Warning

• Cannot be upgraded to multi-user without the purchase of a Remote Desktop Server and Licenses

• If you are moving PCs, then you must request a Migration Kit and notify our IT department of your intended migration timeframe

PC Hardware Requirements

• Operating System: Windows 11 Pro and Windows 11 Pro.

• Computing RAM requirements: 8GB of RAM is the minimum requirement. 8GB is based on running the Point of Rental software. Consideration must be given if other applications will be run concurrently on the user’s session. If you are unsure of the memory requirements, then please contact a member of the Point of Rental IT Department.

• The minimum recommended drive size is 500GB to store Windows, User accounts, Windows Updates, and the Point of Rental software with associated data.

• 1 64-bit multi-core processor (Intel i5 at a minimum) that supports logical processors (Hyper-Threading). 2.5 GHz or higher is recommended.

• 1 Gigabit network interface card.

• Faxing with the Point of Rental software. Metrofax.com services are integrated with the Point of Rental software. Visit http://Metrofax.com for subscription details. Optional, 1 56K fax modem (USB will work) if Microsoft Windows Fax and Scan will be used.

• 1 DVD-ROM drive.

• Internet offsite backup solution and 1 internal/external hard drive to perform a Microsoft Windows PC Backup System State backup.

• 5+ Available USB 2.0 Ports (1 Required for our licensing device, 4+ for optional peripherals: (OCR scanner, Signature Capture, Mag-Swipe, Printers)

These are the basic requirements. A battery backup and a 3-year next-business-day or better manufacturer’s hardware warranty are strongly recommended.
