Cayan Partial Payments
Overview
If you process a card and receive a message stating a partial payment was collected, click OK and proceed to collect the remaining amount due from the customer through another form of payment.
Prerequisites
This process is for debit cards ONLY. Credit cards that do not have the funds available are declined.
Cayan partial captures
1. Cayan has a functionality that captures a partial payment from a debit card when the desired transaction payment amount exceeds the available funds on the debit card. Cayan will capture the partial payment rather than declining the transaction altogether. For example, if a debit card sale is being processed for $100 but the customer’s debit card only has $50 available, the $50 is captured automatically.
2. Point of Rental will display a message requiring you to acknowledge the partial payment before continuing.
3. Point of Rental will then adjust the paid amount on the contract.
4. You will then need to collect the remaining balance from the customer.
