Elite Cloud File Storage:
As we move Elite Cloud forward to a more modern platform, the storage of files that would otherwise happen on the server drive (for things like attachments, instructions, pictures, etc) will be moved to cloud storage. Users can access these records from a left menu option called ‘File Management’, which has its own security controls. Over the next several months, we will be migrating users in groups. An email will be sent out the day before your migration. For more information, please see the article File Storage in Elite.
Users can now see and set specific availability dates for individual line items directly within contract processing. This is super handy for those complex, multi-day contracts with installations or breakdowns, giving you more precise control over when items are available. No more guessing games!
You can now assign categories directly when creating new stock items or updating existing ones via the /stock/ API endpoint. This means your stock items will be perfectly categorized right from the get-go, making organization across your company a breeze.
Ever wonder if an item got a boost from the 'Item Supercharger'? Now you'll know! When you use the Supercharger to update an item's details, we'll automatically add a special note to that item's edit history. This makes tracking changes and reporting on Supercharger usage clearer than ever. It's like leaving a little breadcrumb trail for your future self!
If you're using the Billed Date feature, your Age Date calculations just got a whole lot smarter! Instead of relying on the Closed Date, the system will now use the oldest Billed Date when determining the Age Date. This ensures that features like "Allow past X Days" overrides work exactly as you expect, especially for customers with payment terms like 30 days, giving them the full grace period before an override is needed.
Need your consumers to respond or pay for a reservation ASAP? We've got you covered! You can now send Quiklinks directly within SMS messages associated with a contract. This means your customers can quickly see and act on payment prompts, making the process faster and more convenient for everyone. This will require a Twilio integration. For more information, see the article QuikLink Overview (Elite Only).
For our Samsara users, we've made a small but mighty improvement! To keep your Samsara stats clean and accurate, we're now preventing routes with an end date older than a day from being sent. This means Samsara won't get cluttered with old routes that it can't replay, ensuring your route events are always relevant and up-to-date. No more digital archaeology required!
We've made it much smoother to bill customers for damages identified on an Internal Repair Order (IRO). Now, when a customer is billed for damages, the parts and labor from the IRO will be seamlessly moved to the customer billing invoice instead of using miscellaneous items. This not only clarifies your billing process but also resolves previous Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) issues, keeping your books cleaner. For more information, see the article Internal Repair Order (IRO) and Service Call – Customer Billing.
Previously, your Consumer Portal contract summary might have shown items with a quantity of zero, which could be a bit confusing since they didn't appear on your actual PDF contract. We've tidied things up! Now, those phantom zero-quantity items are hidden, ensuring your online contract perfectly matches your PDF. Less confusion, more clarity – just the way we like it!
Got a super cool email address like yourname@awesome.construction or mycompany@pro.solutions? Good news! We've updated our Consumer Portal to embrace all valid, modern email domains. No more getting stuck at sign-up just because your email isn't a traditional .com. Now, everyone can register and manage their rentals online with ease!
Ever get a verification email and wonder if it's legit? Not anymore! We've added your rental store's logo to our verification emails for both the Consumer Portal and Unified Storefront. This means when you get that important code, you'll instantly recognize it's from us, giving you peace of mind and a more professional experience. If a logo isn't available, your store name will proudly be displayed instead.
We heard your phones ringing off the hook, and we're here to help! Previously, the Consumer Portal's checkout confirmation page sometimes added an extra country code to phone numbers, making them invalid and causing a bit of a headache. We've fixed this hiccup, so your phone numbers will now be displayed correctly, matching your selected region and reducing unnecessary calls to the store. Phew!
We squashed a bug where certain valid email addresses weren't being recognized in the Consumer Portal's advanced settings. This meant you might have seen an annoying 'please enter a valid email' message. Good news: our system is now smarter and will correctly recognize all valid email formats, ensuring smooth sailing for your communications.
Your online contract view just got a whole lot clearer! We've made an important tweak: items flagged 'Do Not Print on Contract' (like internal components) are now hidden, keeping your view clutter-free. However, legitimate $0 items that should be visible to you (like a package parent line for a tent) will still proudly display. This ensures you see an accurate and relevant contract, without any backend distractions.
We fixed a little disappearing act! Previously, some open contracts with a $0 balance due weren't showing up in the Consumer Portal, which was a bit like finding a hidden treasure map with no treasure. Now, every single one of your open contracts, regardless of its balance, will proudly appear in your Consumer Portal. More visibility, less mystery!
For our Essentials users, we've straightened out a tricky issue where storefront rates weren't always selecting the correct pricing, especially during special seasons. We've fine-tuned our system so that the price you see on the product page, in your cart, and on your quote confirmation will now accurately reflect the rate from the correct price sheet. Your wallet (and ours) will thank us!
Ever tried to book something online only to find out it was already taken? That's how our system felt sometimes! We've tackled a pesky bug that allowed storefront reservations to be created for items that were already booked, leading to awkward overbooking situations. Now, our storefront is much smarter about checking availability, ensuring you can't book an item that's already out on an adventure. If it's booked, you'll know!
For our multi-store users, setting up the Consumer Portal just got a whole lot simpler. Previously, you had to enable the 'consumerportal' feature for every single child company. Now, we've streamlined the process so that enabling it for your HQ company will automatically apply it across all your child stores. Less clicking, more time for what matters – like running your awesome rental empire!
We've given the embedded Consumer Portal a fresh coat of paint and some serious polish! This update ensures that when the Consumer Portal is seamlessly integrated within your storefront, it looks fantastic and functions flawlessly on both desktop and mobile devices. We've addressed various design nuances to make your customers' online experience as smooth and visually appealing as possible.
Memory Lane Monday
This is a fun corner where we republish release notes from previous sprints you may have forgotten about.
Job site/Venue Address Change: When a change is made to the address of a job site/venue, you will now be warned if the record is currently being used on a quote, reservation, or open contract and will reference the number of contracts it is used on. The warning is to notify users so that they can adjust the transactions if needed. The user can reference these in the transaction history attached to the job site/venue. For more information, please see the article Job Sites/Venue.
Job site/Venue Transaction History: We have added a transaction history grid to the job site/venue record. This will list any transaction the job site/venue is attached to and, as with other grids like it, has grouping and filtering options. For more information, please see the article Job Sites/Venue.
