Overview of the Payment Interface Window
This article will discuss the Payment Interface Window. The Payment Interface Window displays the amount due, customer billing information, and PO #. These fields are editable. The customer billing information is imported from the customer record in File Maintenance > Customer File.
The Payment Interface Window has four buttons - Retrieve Card, Manual Entry, Customer Swipe, and Cancel. See Figure 1 and Figure 2.
Retrieve Card - Click this button to automatically re-process a credit card already charged on the contract, to select between multiple cards already processed on the same contract, to process a credit card stored on a contract where no other credit cards have already been processed, to process a credit card on a contract where no charges have already been processed and the customer has a credit card saved to their customer record, or to select from historical credit cards saved in the customer’s payment history. Saving credit card data is optional and the latest versions of the integrated credit card module save tokens instead of actual card data. To disable saving of card data navigate to Parameters > Drawer.
Manual Entry - Click this button to manually enter card data on the credit card device. One version of the integrated credit card module allows for manual entry of credit card data using the keyboard. This method is not protected with end-to-end encryption as when it is manually entered on a credit card device. The credit card integration that allows this is called CAYAN. The rental store that utilizes this weighs efficiency for a user or sets of users over any risk associated with not processing using end-to-end encryption.
Customer Swipe - Click this button to prompt your credit card device for customer input for either a swipe or an EMV injection.
Cancel - Click this to cancel the credit card transaction and go back to the contract tender screen or account payment screen.

The credit card inquire window checks the credit card integration balance between the Point of Rental Software and the credit card gateway. They should always match. If not, End of Day cannot proceed and it requires a call to Point of Rental Software support, at (800) 944-7368. Follow these instructions to open credit card inquire:
