Rental Intelligence Suite

ℹ️This feature is only available on Elite.

Rental Intelligence Suite (RIS) is a web-based platform that turns your Elite data into a clear, interactive view of fleet performance — without building Crystal Reports or manual spreadsheets. Your data is extracted from Elite and made available in the platform, where you can explore it, ask questions in plain language, set performance standards, and make buy, keep, and sell decisions in one place.

The platform currently focuses on serialized assets. An asset is pulled in when it has activity, such as revenue, repair costs, or depreciation associated with it — so sold assets and assets without rental income can still appear.

Accessing the Platform

RIS is accessed entirely through your web browser at intelligence.pointofrental.com.

  1. Sign in using your Elite single sign-on — your email and password.

  2. Once logged in, you’ll be taken to the page shown below:

ℹ️ Your data flows in automatically and stays up to date with each data load. Data refreshes nightly.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is your landing page and gives you a high-level snapshot of your entire fleet the moment you log in. It comes pre-configured with a starter set of widgets covering metrics such as ROI, utilization, trash-to-cash, lowest-performing assets, and distribution views across your fleet.

Building widgets with the Rental Intelligence AI Assistant

What makes the Dashboard different is that you can create your own widgets just by asking. Using the built-in AI Assistant, type a question in plain language — the way you would with ChatGPT or Claude — and the platform decides the best way to visualize the answer and builds the widget for you.

For example, you might ask:

  • “Show me the top assets by ROI over the last 12 months”

  • “Show the top 5 items by ROI”

Choosing how your data is displayed

Every widget can be shown in five formats, and you can switch between them at any time:

  • Bar chart

  • Line chart

  • Pie chart

  • Metric card

  • Data table

Refining a widget

You can keep “chatting” with a widget to get it to exactly the view you want:

  • Filter the data (for example, “Filter out any asset with OEC less than $5,000”)

  • Add columns such as Item Number, Item Key, or Manufacturer

  • Rename columns to match your terminology

  • Add a custom calculation — for example, a weighted ROI defined as revenue minus repair cost, divided by OEC

Once a widget is built the way you like it, it stays on your dashboard so you see the same view each time you return.

ℹ️The AI Assistant currently works with fleet and equipment data. If you ask about something it does not yet cover — such as sales rep performance or contract-level detail — it will let you know that the data is not yet available.

Analytics

The Analytics layer is the heart of the platform — a quick, structured snapshot of your entire fleet that would otherwise take significant time to assemble from Crystal Reports.

Choose a time period (for example, the last 12 months) and see your key metrics across the fleet, including revenue, repair costs, average ROI, utilization, weighted utilization, fleet age, hours rented, revenue per rental day, turnover rate, and more.

Customizing your metrics

You control which metrics you see and in what order. Turn a metric off to hide it, or move it to the front.

Drilling down

Analytics lets you move from the big picture all the way down to a single asset, following the hierarchy:

Division  →  Category  →  Cat Class  →  Individual Asset

At the individual asset level, you can view an asset’s lifetime financial performance, operational metrics, identification details, and historical trends over the years it has been in your fleet. Sold assets remain visible (indicated by a dollar-sign marker), so revenue history is not lost.

Industry Benchmarks

Once you know how your fleet measures against your own standards, you can go a level up and see how you stack up against the rest of the industry. Pick any category and compare it against the anonymized data of thousands of Point of Rental customers across measures such as asset age, turnover rate, availability, maintenance cost, and placement. This is real operating data, not a survey.

ℹ️Any data used for industry benchmarking is fully aggregated and anonymized. Individual customer data is aggregated into large datasets so no information can be traced back to a specific business, enabling the platform to provide accurate market comparisons while maintaining strict data privacy and security.

AI Insights

AI Insights gives you a high-level executive summary of your business, generated from your data. It surfaces year-over-year growth, monthly revenue, average fleet utilization, areas that need attention, revenue optimization opportunities, top and bottom performers, and recommended action items for the week.

Today’s Brief

Today’s Brief gives you your top three recommended actions for the day — concrete steps you can take to improve fleet performance. The recommendations are generated from your own data and differ from day to day and from business to business.

Examples of the kinds of actions it surfaces:

  • Raise rates on top-performing categories

  • Reallocate from low-revenue categories

  • Bundle and upsell underperforming assets

Disposition Planner

The Disposition Planner is a one-stop tool for deciding what to sell. Instead of pulling together spreadsheets, metrics, and outside market research, you let the platform surface the right candidates — first automatically through the Disposition Agent, and then on your own terms through the criteria you set.

The Disposition Agent

At the top of the page is the Disposition Agent — the system’s first pass at what to sell. Every day, it surfaces the top items it recommends selling, based on risk-score models rather than a single rule tripping.

Click into any recommendation to see the risk score and the reasoning for that specific unit

From there, you have two choices: list the asset for sale, which flows into the same Bidadoo path described below, or snooze it so it drops off going forward. The Agent brings you the shortlist; you make the call.

Setting your criteria

Define your sell-watch criteria and your exclusion filters:

  • Sell-watch criteria include minimum ROI, age, and meter reading.

  • Exclusion filters — such as a minimum OEC and a minimum age — keep brand-new or low-value assets from cluttering your list, so newer assets get a fair chance to prove themselves before being flagged.

You can combine criteria to narrow the list — for example, showing only assets that meet both an age and a meter-reading threshold — to get a clean, curated set of candidates.

Getting an AI Market Insight on an asset

Click into any qualifying asset and open its Actions to generate an AI Market Insight. The platform analyzes the asset’s data, its location, and surrounding market conditions, then returns:

  • A keep-or-sell recommendation (it evaluates each asset intelligently — it will not simply tell you to sell everything)

  • An AI-estimated resale value

  • A new CapEx figure

You can also drill into the asset’s identification details and lifetime financial performance, just as you can in Analytics.

Listing an asset for sale

If you decide to sell, choose List for Sale to send the asset to Bidadoo. Enter the asset details, contact info, listing details, description, internal notes, and photos, then confirm the listing — the platform emails it to Bidadoo and starts the process for you.

Snoozing assets

To keep your working list curated, snooze any asset you are not ready to act on (for example, for 90 days), and it drops off the active list. You can review snoozed assets and unsnooze them at any time.

Customer Analytics

Customer Analytics turns your attention from the fleet to the people you rent to. Every account you do business with is brought into one place, with a quick read on each: its lifecycle stage, whether its status and revenue are trending up or down, and whether it is heating up or cooling off.

Reading an account at a glance

Alongside each account, you can see its receivables aged out — current, 31–60 days, and beyond 120 days — so the money side of the relationship is visible without leaving the view.

Two scores tell you where to spend your time:

  • Priority Score (0–100) — how much an account is worth your attention today. A score near 100 is a top account your rep should already be thinking about.

  • AR Priority (0–100) — how much money is genuinely overdue, weighted so that older dollars count more heavily.

Because the two are ranked separately, your sales and collections priorities are laid out for you rather than tangled together.

Drilling into an account

Click into any account to see its trends over time and its contact information, right there in the same place — so when a score tells you an account needs attention, the context is one click away.

Seeing the bigger picture with the treemap

The treemap zooms you out. Group your customers to see your biggest accounts at a glance, or break the view out by sales rep to see who is carrying growing accounts versus declining ones that need attention. Your total AR and open items stay at the top the whole time.

ℹ️ Customer Analytics can be enabled independently of the rest of the suite, so access may be packaged separately for your organization.

On the Roadmap

The following capabilities were previewed and are in development. They give a sense of where the platform is heading and may not yet be available in your environment:

  • Fleet Expansion — machine-learning guidance on where to reinvest capital and which assets to buy.

  • Depot Balancing — for multi-location operators, recommendations on where to transfer assets to improve utilization.

  • Disposition Agent — a set-and-forget option that automatically lists qualifying low-value assets.

  • Expanded data coverage — bulk items, event-company support, and transaction-level data over time.
