Transferring serialized and bulk items instantly
You still have the option of transferring serialized items from the Counter System Main Menu like with bulk items but you can also do it from Item Availability. You can use the same transfer customers that are used for bulk transfers (XFER-1, XFER-2 etc.…), but when you select non-bulk items POR does not ask for time, as it assumes the item will be staying at the other store until further notice.
1. Bring up the item you wish to transfer under Item Availability. If you clicked on a header you will need to show the serialized items to pick the right one you want to transfer. Click the Serialized button and click on the specific serialized item to transfer it.
Select your serialized item you want to transfer.
2. At the top of the item availability screen click Inventory Then Transfer. If you wish to transfer it now it will bring up a list of your stores. Click on the one you want it to go to and you’re done. Note: This security is located under the "Item Record" portion of the security grid under both System and Individual employee security.
If you want to do a future transfer, it is the same method as the first method shown in this document.
3. When it’s time for the item to go to the other store, send out the reservation from store 1 and store 2 will close it to complete the transfer.
*Note: When you click on the All Stores button within Item Availability, you will get a listing of each store’s quantity owned along with the quantity available each day for a week.
Multi-Store Availability: When you are looking at the weekly availability for a header item (i.e. right click on an item and select Item Availability) you can select all stores from the store drop-down menu. This option will display a line for each of your stores a and list the availability for each store. This allows you to quickly see what store has the items in stock you need.
Extra Charges: When transferring items between stores, the system has always transferred the purchase cost associated with that item. The system will now also transfer the extra charges associated with transferred item.
Package Items: If an item being transferred has package items, the user will be prompted to also add the items from the package.
Transfer Delay
You can set up a delay to determine how long after a transfer the item will be available. For Example: You have an item that is being transferred and you want 24 hours to check out the equipment before you make it available. In this case, you could set up a Transfer delay for 24 hours.
You can select the store from the dropdown in the upper right corner. To set the delay double click in the box and set this field in hours.
You can also check the box “No Transfer” Which would prevent you from transferring equipment from this store to the selected store.
Now when you transfer the availability of the item being transferred will be pushed out by the hours you have determined.
Note: The duration of the transfer can be defined under the delay column. This will be the default time delay on a transfer contract. You can manually change the Due Back Date of the item to set when the item will be available in the receiving store.
