Initial Steps for Resolving Web Quote and Website Update Issues in POR
When web quotes do not populate the Web Quote Import window or a website does not update, first try running Update Website in POR (Configurations -> Other Updates). See Updating Your Website in Auto Mode.
If it is successful, skip to this article's POR Scheduled Task section. Otherwise, continue with the IP Address section in this article.
IP Address Change
We always recommend that our users ask their internet providers for a static IP. This will prevent the IP from changing and causing trouble!
Reasons IP addresses change
- Changing IS providers
- Moving your server
- installing a new server or updates
- Elite POR Cloud migration
- IS providers are also known to change non-static IP addresses at random.
- etc.
To get things back up and running properly, we need to enter your current IP address into our firewall.
To find your correct, current IP address, go to:
- Navigate to 'Update Website': Configuration (App Configurations in Elite) > Other Updates > Update Website > Dismiss the warning pop-up
- Hover over the Help drop-down menu and click Get My Public IP Address.
- Provide the displayed IP address to our Support team
- If you see a pop-up showing the message "(Internet Connection Failed)", you can ignore it and click on the "Test in Browser" button, which will open your browser and display your POR server's IP.
- We will then enter the new IP address into our firewall and have you run the Update Website process to be sure it's working properly.
POR Scheduled Task
If you can update your website manually, but it doesn't automatically update overnight, the culprit most likely is the Scheduled Task set up in POR.
Please check the date/time stamp in the bottom right corner of your website. If it is not up to today's date, please contact support.
