Uploading Files to AWS POR Cloud (Cloud Bridge File Push)

ℹ️ This feature is available in Elite versions 2026.02 and above.

Starting February 13, 2026, legacy file share methods will be disabled in POR AWS Cloud environments. File Push with Cloud Bridge is the solution that will replace these methods. File Push automatically uploads files from a local PC directory to the chosen directory in the File Management Feature in POR. All AWS environments require the File Push feature to be configured (as the target folder) for driver's license files to be uploaded.

Topics included in this article

Prerequisites

  • SSO Credentials for Elite login.

  • File Management target folder (must exist before Cloud Bridge File Push is set up).

  • Elite user access to update operator print settings.

Cloud Bridge File Push Set Up

Step 1: Create a Local Directory for File Uploads

ℹ️ All AWS environments require the File Push feature to be configured (as the target folder) for driver's license files to be uploaded

  • This will be done with your local file explorer.

  • On the local machine where Cloud Bridge is installed, create a folder (Ex, C:\POR\Pictures\).

Step 2: Create File Management Target Folder

ℹ️ To learn more about File Management Target Folder, see the article File Management Overview in Elite.

  • In File Management, create the File Management folder and name it as desired. This must exist before mapping a File Push object. In this example, the folder is called ‘Item Pictures’ and will be located in the ‘Root’ Directory.

Step 3: Configure File Push Directory Map (This will be done in Cloud Bridge)

  1. Log in to Cloud Bridge with SSO credentials.

  1. Click the print machine name.

  1. Add a File Push Directory Map.

  1. Name the file push object descriptively so it's clear what it is for. In this example, it will be named item pictures.

  2. Add the following to the File Push Directory mapping:

    1. Local directory: full path (e.g., C:\POR\Pictures). Best practice is to copy this file path in File Explorer by navigating to the folder and selecting it from the navigation bar at the top.

    2. File Management directory: (e.g., Item Pictures)

    1. Click save.

Step 4: Add Files to Local Directory

    1. Move or create a file in the local directory for File Push to upload it to File Management. In this example, the local directory is C:\POR\Pictures.

    2. Open the target File Management directory to which it should be uploaded. In this example, it is ‘Item Pictures’.

    3. Observe that a copy of the file has been moved to the File management directory, ‘Item Pictures’.

    Essential Notes & Troubleshooting

    • The S3 folder must exist before mapping, or pushes will not complete.

    • The file watcher only detects changes while the Windows service is running. Files added while the service is stopped may not be detected unless re-added or moved.

    • Filenames overwrite previous copies (e.g., picture002.jpg will be replaced by the newest picture002.jpg.)

    • Queue retention is time-limited; very long offline periods may cause File Push jobs to drop.

    • The Cloud Bridge installer may require an admin password. Contact your IT provider or management if you do not have permission to install Cloud Bridge.

    • If File Push Jobs show “Sent to service” but not “Sent to S3 directory”, check that the File Management directory exists.

    • This feature is only available to Windows PCs.

    • This feature only moves files to the cloud server. It does not move files from the cloud server to the local PC.

    • If you put a file with a duplicate name in the local PC directory to be uploaded to the POR server, it will overwrite the file on the server. It is best practice to avoid removing files from the local machine’s directory to prevent this from happening unintentionally. If you try to place a file with a duplicate name in the local PC directory, do not accept Windows prompts asking to overwrite the file.
