Vertex Enhanced Flex Fields
| ℹ️ This feature is an Elite feature only |
Vertex is a tax integration with various features and reports that can be run based on the information passed into it. Beyond basic contract information, Elite users may also choose to send extra data fields when a tax call is made to Vertex to enhance the functionality of what they see in reports. In short, with Flex Fields, you can map additional fields to pass further information to Vertex.
To get access, a feature license must be turned on. Please contact sales if that license is not already enabled for your organization or if you do not already have Vertex enabled.
Does this work with my Vertex integration?
The flex fields work with Vertex Cloud and Vertex V2 (our available Vertex integration options). Once licensed, you can view and select these options by going to the Gear icon > App Configuration > System Configurations > Parameters > Accounting tab.
Setup
Once the feature license is enabled, you can find the options for Vertex Enhanced Flex Fields under the ‘API Configuration’ section of the Browser Configurations. You can get here by pressing the Gear icon.
It does not require security to be enabled or modified. Click it to expand it.
You can begin setting up flex fields by clicking the string flex field to the left of the ‘Add’ button. A list of unused flex fields will then appear. Once a field is selected, it will appear in the box below and disappear from the list, so duplicates cannot be set up.
Once the fields have been added, drag and drop them into the appropriate order by hovering over and then clicking on the grid of dots (a hand will appear as you hover over them).
If you need to remove a flex field, simply click the black subtraction symbol on the right side of the row.
When using the string text field flex field input, you can also input text that is not in the drop-down as a field to be passed. This will not map to a data field. It simply passes over in Vertex as a form of transaction tagging. Below is a list of flex fields currently supported.

Once the desired flex fields have been mapped, select the ‘Submit’ button at the bottom right. From this point forward, those flex fields will be passed in the tax call. Previous tax calls will not be affected.
| ℹ️ Please note that the Flex fields passed for the damage waiver, item percentage, and other fields will include flex fields for contract fields, job site fields, and the user-defined static value fields, but not the fields for transaction items. |
