- Enter <DONOTSHOW> in the webtag field of each of the category records that you included in your SuperCategory. This will keep the individual categories from showing up in the left side navigation bar on the website but will allow them to show once the user clicks on the SuperCategory.
- In addition, you must insert an image for each of the individual categories that you have assigned to the SuperCategory. Images will show best if you size them to be 400x300px.

Lift categories you already have set up in POR are Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, Scaffolding, and Forklifts. You can create a SuperCategory, Lifts, and assign the 4 individual categories to it. Enter “<DONOTSHOW>” in the webtag field for each of the 4 original categories so that they do not show up in the catalog on the website in addition to the new SuperCategory.

You have Lighting and Heaters/Fans categories already set up in POR and assigned to your Equipment division. But you’d also like your party customers to see these categories along with your tents. Create a SuperCategory called Tents, then assign your Tent, Lighting, and Heaters/Fans categories to it. In this example, you would NOT enter “<DONOTSHOW>” in the webtag field for the Lighting and Heaters/Fans categories since you DO want them to show in the equipment catalog on the website. Because the categories do not belong to the Party division, they will not show in the party catalog.
- SuperCategories are integral in managing a Linens inventory. Create new categories for each color of linen. Create package records for each fabric/color combination in your inventory. Then assign your package items to the appropriate new categories. Create a SuperCategory called Linen and assign your new color categories to it. Enter “<DONOTSHOW>” in the webtag field for the new categories so that they do not show up in the catalog on the website in addition to the new SuperCategory.
It is not advisable to overdo the SuperCategory structure. Categories belonging to a SuperCategory should have at least 3 items assigned to them. You want to avoid categories that have only one item in them. It’s easy to take this concept too far, so strive to find the right balance.
