10/02/2024 v2024.14

We are listening! Items with this label are a result of your suggestions in uInnovate. Please continue to share and support those ideas that help your business.

We recommend reading these and understanding the impact prior to updating. These features may require adjustments to security or configuration and may have implications for your operations or current workflows.

Enhanced Email Templates:  We have enhanced our email templates to include a rich text editor. This will give you greater control over the overall look and feel of the emails being sent. It is compatible with XHTML and will try to convert existing text or HTML to HTML when a template is modified. You’ll receive a warning, however, and can cancel instead of saving changes. You should reopen and resave your e-mail templates in the new XHTML format to prevent any surprises down the road.

Farewell Nethelp: For the past year, we have been transitioning users from using Nethelp to using uLearn. NetHelp itself has not been updated with new information since September of last year. In 2024.14, the ability to access NetHelp will go away entirely. If you have not yet, please spend time familiarizing yourself with uLearn.

Enhanced Vertex Flex Fields:  For those of you who may be interested in mapping additional flex fields to their Vertex integration, we now offer an enhanced list of string, numeric, and data fields. These flex fields are configured in the API Configuration section of the browser configurations and require a feature license to be visible.

The uLearn document, Vertex Enhanced Flex Fields, includes a complete list of the offered fields and setup instructions. Please reach out to sales if interested in this feature.

Xero API Integration Transaction Mode:  For users of the Xero API Accounting Integration set to transaction mode, we have updated the way that partially paid invoices are sent over to Xero.  Rather than passing a partially paid invoice with a negative line for the prepayment (causing the full value of the invoice to not be reflected in the accounting package), the invoices will be sent over for the full value, and a credit created in Xero for the value of the prepayment. For more information, see our article Xero API Accounting Integration.

AWS and Training Database:  It was discovered that AWS systems outside of the US/CA were not having their Training database created overnight. This has been corrected.

MultiLanguage GL Entries:  The general ledger entry report has been made translatable so that it can be viewed in a language other than English.

Translations in General Ledger Entry Report:  When you generate the General Ledger Entries report, the text fields have now been programmed to translate themselves. For more information on how this works, see our article Reprint General Ledger Entries.

API Users:  For those of you connecting to our API, we have added several new fields listed below. Please refer to the full documentation here: https://api.pointofrental.com/docs

  • Line Items - Rates. Stock: Tax Code, Alias, and Barcode. Product: Tax Code, Alias, Barcode.
  • Contracts: Transaction Salesman ID, Assigned To ID, Is Delivery, Is Pickup.
  • Customer: Insurance Expiration.
  • Locations: Revision.

Mobile

These are updates for Elite users utilizing the POR One app.

Inventory Count Improvements - Inventory Counts now load with a better user-interface to let you know that the page is updating. Jumping into and out of the items on an Inventory Count updates the Quantity Expected from Elite for an accurate ‘real-time’ count and now it is easy to see this is happening to avoid confusion.

Fix: Ready Tags not loading - If there were too many items piling up in the ‘Not Ready’ list there were delays and potentially an error loading the list. To resolve this issue both Elite and POR One will need to be updated to version 2024.14 but once complete the list will load as expected for your team to complete Ready Tags.

eCommerce

These are updates that pertain to users that utilize the Consumer Portal and QuikLink functionality.

Fixed an issue with an open QuikLink timing out:  This fix includes two issues. The first is that the same QuikLink can be opened by different users simultaneously.  Secondly, it also removes showing the user a login screen if the user navigates to a QuikLink and leaves it open for an extended period of time and the screen times out.

Added formatting to support Miscellaneous Item name changes:  this change has particular application to the note field and the display of those line items in QuikLink.  Previously we added the capability to show the modified lines in Elite.  With this work we apply minor formatting to the lines to help them stand out in the QuikLink and on the Contract Detail page.

Consumer Portal Advanced users

These updates pertain only to users that have Consumer Portal Advanced.

Added a configuration in the Admin Panel to turn off call-off and service requests:  Some rental stores, (event in particular) don’t offer call-off capabilities or have requests for service, so we added configurations that hides the option of calling off items and requesting service in the My Rentals section.  This helps you customize your user experience of the Consumer Portal.

Added a configuration in the Admin Panel to turn off the Tracking tab:  Some rental stores, (event in particular) don’t have a need to show item tracking information, so we added a configuration that hides the option for showing the Tracking tab.

Memory Lane Monday

This is a fun corner where we republish release notes from previous sprints you may have forgotten about.

Unpull Sales Items:  Elite users now have the option to right click on a sales item and unpull the inventory once it has been pulled. This will return the inventory to the item record. This is available both from the right click and the multi-select. Camera 1, Camera 2, Camera 1, Camera 2.  First person to email me with the movie reference gets a crisp high five.

Suspense Days Grid View:  For those utilizing stand downs or suspense days, the entries for any particular contract can now be seen from the core contract processing screen in a grid view by going to Reports>Suspense Days.  Having this information here prevents the user from having to go back to the browser interface to retrieve it.
